Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as one of the most influential technological developments shaping contemporary education. Its increasing integration into educational environments is transforming how teachers design instruction, how students access knowledge, how learning is assessed, and how educational institutions make decisions. AI-powered technologies, including intelligent tutoring systems, adaptive learning platforms, automated assessment tools, learning analytics, natural language processing applications, and generative AI, provide new opportunities for personalized, flexible, and data-informed education. At the same time, the adoption of AI raises important questions concerning academic integrity, data privacy, algorithmic bias, teacher autonomy, digital inequality, and the changing role of educators. This research article examines the role of AI in transforming teaching and learning through a conceptual review of relevant educational and technological literature. The study adopts a qualitative research methodology based on the analysis and synthesis of published books and scholarly literature, with particular emphasis on book references. The theoretical framework draws upon constructivism, connectivism, the Technology Acceptance Model, and the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge framework to explain how AI can influence educational practices. The discussion demonstrates that AI should not be understood as a replacement for teachers but as a powerful tool that can augment human expertise, improve personalization, support formative assessment, and expand access to educational resources. However, successful implementation requires teacher preparation, ethical governance, institutional policies, digital infrastructure, and a human-centered approach. The article concludes that the transformative potential of AI in education depends not merely on technological adoption but on the ability of educational systems to integrate AI responsibly, critically, and pedagogically. Future educational strategies should therefore prioritize human-AI collaboration, AI literacy, ethical standards, equitable access, and continuous research into the long-term effects of AI on learners and educators.
