Amjad Islam Amjad is one of the most popular poets of today Popularity is acquired through the God-gifted qualities that a personality possesses. One thing which seemed common in Amjad Islam Amjad nazms, ghazals, dramas and columns was his desire to bring about good. "The common theme in his works is khair-i-kaseer. Amjad Islam Amjad doesn't compromise with the unwanted forces, the exploitative forces. He had always spoken the truth no matter what. He is performing many jobs at a time very well. He writes columns, translations, Dramas, Essays and do poetry. He thinks that when a person want to express his feelings he look for the ways. The method he find near and appropriate to is feelings he adopt it. That's why he also express his feelings through all the ways. He thinks that in this age of Electronic war every thing is rapidly changing and people are adopting simplest ways for doing things. New values are getting their way in our lives. In this situation Literature and economy are mixed up and the literature is lacking concentration and interest of people. The people do not have that much interest towards literature. The reason behind this is that many problems of every day are directly effecting it. The literature of today is accepted by mind but fails to leave long lasting impact on heart. Amjad Islam Amjad was born in Sialkot, got education in Lahore. He started his career as a lecturer in M.A.O College Lahore. From 1975-79 he worked at PTV as director and then he returned to the College again. In 1979 he was appointed as Director General of Urdu Science Board. Now a day he is project director of Children Library Complex. He is author of 40 books. He has received national and PTV awards. Amjad Islam Amjad has written many a drama series for PTV with "Waaris" being the jewel in the crown. He may or may not write another serial so popular but his poetic talents have been abounding by day and night. He has written many columns, translation, criticism and essays but his real identity is his Nazms. He write famous dramas like Waris, Dehleez, Smandar, Raat, Waqt and Apnay Loug etc.
